Thoughts on pregnancy & our baby's gender reveal!

Well, the cat is finally out of the bag! My husband Will and I are expecting our first baby this December! We are absolutely ecstatic and cannot wait to open up our hearts to an all new kind of love. This news has already changed our lives for the better, as we find ourselves so full of love and joy for each other and the little life growing inside of me it's almost hard to believe that this is all real at times. I know for me, it was always difficult to imagine what it would be like to be pregnant. I could easily envision myself being a mom, but being pregnant for some reason was an abstract idea that I couldn't really wrap my head around. Yet here I am, 16 weeks along and already sporting a little bump. It's crazy and beautiful and wonderful all at the same time. The first trimester however, was not so beautiful and wonderful. With the constant nausea, exhaustion, food aversions, heart palpitations (yeah, that's a thing), mood swings, and pretty much any other symptom you can imagine, it was difficult to appreciate WHY this was all happening to me. Mostly I just wanted to lie in bed and cry myself to sleep. Having said all of that, I still consider myself lucky because I know there are people out there who have had it MUCH worse.

Thankfully, the last couple of weeks have been SO MUCH better, as I'm starting to feel more like myself again. People warn you that you will feel different, but it's impossible to understand until it happens to you. Then it's like, yeah, I get it now. Now that we are well into the second trimester, I have been able to enjoy this pregnancy more. There's nothing quite like hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time and seeing the little miracle squirming around inside of you via ultrasound. It makes you forget all of the yucky parts.

This weekend we had the joy of finding out the sex of our little peanut alongside lots of close friends and family and man oh-man, what an exciting moment in our lives! We are so grateful for everyone who came to show their love and support for Baby Lemon and us, but a special thanks goes out to our friends Carlie for making the most adorable cake EVER and Gabriel for snapping some amazing photos for us!

I just can't get enough of Will's expression in this sequence below. He really wanted a girl, but for some reason thought it was going to be a boy at the last minute. Well…..

We are THRILLED!!!! Baby girl Lemon is going to be spoiled rotten, especially by her dad. We cannot wait to meet this little lady in just a few short months!

Thank you again everyone for all of the sweet comments, text messages, and well wishes. We've read everything you've wrote and our hearts our SO full. :)
