Newport Beach Coffee Shop Engagement Photos // Kristen + Brett

I know it sounds cliche and maybe a little redundant, but I genuinely feel like my couples are the best. I don't always get to hand-pick the people I work with, but when I get lucky enough to be hired to shoot a couple whom I truly get along as if we were old friends, my heart sings. I'm sure it goes without saying that most people do not feel comfortable having a camera pointed at their face for a long period of time. I mean, I sure as heck don't. But when an engagement session feels more like us just hanging out, sharing a few laughs, and being our goofy selves, that, my friends, is when the REAL magic takes place. Kristen and Brett were that couple. The ones that don't have a shot list in their head, don't care about looking "perfect", and are just genuinely fun to be around. They trusted me to do my thing and put up with my stupid jokes, and by the end of our shoot I walked away so excited for their wedding day and secretly hoping that their dog Bernie would be their ring bearer. ;)
